Who are we?

We are nine adventure companies are working together to promote North Wales as the best place for outdoor adventure tourism in the UK.

The ‘Adventure Map’ was formed in June 2013 as a response to the marketing call of the ‘Heart of Adventure’ project by Visit Wales and the companies agreed to work together with a shared vision.

“The Adventure tourism economy has seen considerable growth in recent years and it is now entering a time of unprecedented progress. Adventure tourism injects much-needed revenue into the local economy, supports many jobs in North Wales, supports local services and infrastructure and helps promote a positive image of North Wales to the world,” says Phil Scott of RibRide adventure boat tours, AdventureMap member and Chair of the North Wales Tourism Form.

The AdventureMap provides accreditation and quality assurance. We are striving to provide the best adventure experiences in Britain.

“Together we are giving visitors with a sense of adventure the best reasons to choose Snowdonia over any other UK destination, highlighting that the quality and diversity of the adventure experience in North Wales is second to none. Whether you want to fly down a zip wire, surf a roaring wave, carve through the water on a fast RIB, pick your way up a cliff face or simply paddle quietly across a beautiful lake, Snowdonia has the best possible experience to offer,” says Dave Cheetham, Plas y Brenin – The National Mountain Sports Centre, AdventureMap member.

In addition to having experts in adventure, North Wales has mountains, lakes, rivers, seas and forests, all in a tight geographical area near to big cities with great transport links and large populations. The AdventureMap gives visitors 9 more reasons to have an adventure in North Wales.
